Chinese firm Global Law Office (GLO) has launched its Korea practice with the hiring of two partners and two senior associates from Korean law firm Bae Kim & Lee (BKL).

Partners Kim Jong-gil and Chi Yongquan along with GLO partner Lu Yingchun, apart from senior associates Jin Shengfeng and Li Guangxing, will make up a team which will focus on cross border investment and trade between China and Korea. All the team members are qualified in both China and Korea.

Kim was a leader of BKL’s China practice team. He has more than 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, fair trade, anti-dumping and foreign direct investment between the two countries. Kim was also involved in many of the largest Chinese state-owned enterprises’ M&As in Korea, as well as major Korean companies’ China projects.

As one of the first Chinese nationals to become a partner in a Korean firm, Chi’s expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, real estate development by foreign-invested companies and overseas public offerings and listings.

Meanwhile, Lu has 10 years of experience focusing on foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions and project finance. ALB
