Beijing-based water treatment equipment supplier, Duoyuan Global Water, has become the third Chinese company to list on the New York Stock Exchange this year, following Changyou.com and Chemspec International. Three law firms represented Duoyuan in its New York debut which raised US$88m. The firms who advised Duoyuan were Hogan & Hartson as to US law, Commerce & Finance as to PRC law and Maples and Calder as to BVI law. Leading the Hogan team were partners Man Chiu Lee (Hong Kong) and Arthur Mok (Shanghai).
O'Melveny and Myers and Tian Yuan acted for the underwriters, Piper Jaffray, Oppenheimer & Co. and Janney Montgomery Scott.
"The successful offering by Duoyuan reflect a strong sentiment for continued investor interest in market-leading companies in China," said Man Chiu Lee.
In February 2009, Hogan & Hartson advised the underwriters in the US$132m Hong Kong IPO of China's Real Gold Mining.
