Australian firm Spruson & Ferguson has recently launched its representative office in Shanghai, as the firm continues to expand its presence in Asia.
The intellectual property firm is, so far, the first IP firm from Australia to enter China. It already has a well- established in Southeast Asia.
“This is a landmark occasion for our firm and we are thrilled to be expanding our network of offices in Asia, adding to our Sydney, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur offices,” said David Griffith, Managing Principal and Chairman of Spruson & Ferguson.
“China is an important growth area for Spruson & Ferguson. Our Shanghai team has the local knowledge and expertise to offer our clients quality patent services, fully supported by our 300 staff in Singapore and Australia,” he added.
European and German qualified patent attorney, Dr. Oliver Lutze, has been appointed the Chief Representative in Shanghai. Lutze has served as Senior Patent Counsel at a German multinational company for more than 15 years in addition to having spent more than five years in China leading the company's IPR function.
“Our China office further increases our support capabilities for clients in Asia with regard to their IP protection needs in one of the most relevant markets globally,” said Lutze.
