Latham & Watkins has hired Hui Xu, a white-collar crime and government investigations expert, as a partner in its corporate risk and investigations team in Shanghai from Covington & Burling. 

Xu’s practice focuses on advising clients on cross-border government investigations and litigation matters in Asia. He has experience in conducting internal investigations involving the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Chinese bribery laws. 

Latham & Watkins’ Greater China offices have seen a number of additions this year, including the hires of Frank Sun, Simon Cooke, Gary Hamp and Amy Beckingham, and the relocations of London partner James Burnett and Chicago partner Josef Athanas to Hong Kong.
