OVERVIEW

Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) have played an increasingly pivotal role in shaping the business landscape, with an expected rise in M&A transactions in 2025. Behind these transactions is a complex legal process that companies must learn to navigate.

ALB is pleased to present its Mergers & Acquisitions: Cross-Border Transactions Masterclass. This course aims to provide delegates essential knowledge and understanding of M&A transactions, including the inherent legal risks and commercial issues surrounding different types of acquisitions.

Delegates will learn about what makes the various legal aspects of M&A significantly different to a Private Equity Deal or Joint Venture. They will learn to manage and negotiate warranties, representations and indemnities with ease, effectively strengthening M&A skills for each key stage of the transaction.

Arun Singh OBE

Arun Singh (Prof) OBE, FRSA is an international lawyer and consultant to an international law firm. He was formerly a partner and head of commercial law at KPMG Legal and partner at Masons (now Pinsent Masons) in the City of London and Hong Kong.

Arun has delivered public and in-house courses on contracts, corporate and commercial law, negotiations and leadership in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Americas for multinationals and SME’s, across sectors including, finance, telecoms, manufacturing, FMCG, IT, government entities, and sovereign wealth funds

Arun has advised on disputes and collaborations in a wide range of jurisdictions including Europe, countries in West and East Africa, India, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Libya, Jordan, Syria, the US, Caribbean, Russia, Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. Arun is cited and ranked in the Chambers Guide to the world’s leading lawyers. He concentrates on international investment, joint ventures, licensing of technology, research and development, M&A, energy, outsourcing, and corporate governance in developed and emerging markets; he also handles international legal risk management matters. Arun advises a range of international organisations and is a visiting professor in International Business, Leadership and Negotiations at Salford University Business School, senior associate at Oxford University’s Institute of Legal Practice and teaches international leadership and negotiations at the Moller Institute, University of Cambridge and the Alliance Manchester Business School.

He is a recognised corporate educator and a non-executive director of international investment companies – one of which was listed on the London Stock Exchange, chairing the Audit Committee and Investment Committee.

He was appointed an OBE by HM the Queen in January 1999 for services to international trade, investment, and intercultural management. Arun is an editor and contributor to a number of publications including Business and Contract Law (a Thorogood Special Report) and How to Lead Smart People – Leadership for Professionals (Profile Books), bestseller shortlisted for ‘Leadership for the Future’ category of the Business Book Awards and CIM Management Book of the Year 2020, a facilitator for company programmes, and an experienced speaker at international corporate conferences.

APPLICABILITY - These terms and conditions apply to the supply of conferences, workshops, events and exhibitions (the “Event”) by Thomson Reuters to delegates/attendees (“you”). 

ATTENDANCE - Each ticket is valid for 1 participant and login details are not allowed to be forwarded or distributed. Multiple users are encouraged to make use of the bulk ticket deals available at our website. Participants are not allowed to broadcast, stream, record or distribute the session. All participants are encouraged to turn their video cameras on during the class to increase interactivity with the instructor.

PAYMENT - Payment must be received by Thomson Reuters prior to attendance at the Event.

CANCELLATION - Should you be unable to attend, a substitute delegate/attendee is always welcome at no extra cost. Alternatively, provided you notify Thomson Reuters in writing (by letter, fax or email to skye.gamban@thomsonreuters.com) 14 full days before the Event, Thomson Reuters will refund your registration fee, less a 15% administration charge with a minimum administration fee of $50+gst.
Regrettably, no refunds will be made if less than 14 full days notice of cancellation is given. However if you cancel less than 14 full days before the Event, you may where applicable elect to receive presentation notes from the Event either electronically or in hardcopy.
Thomson Reuters reserves the right to change the date, venue and/or presenters of the Event at any time and without prior notice, and in any way deemed to be in the best interests of meeting the objectives of the Event. If Thomson Reuters cancels a workshop for any reason, your remedy is limited to a refund of the registration fee.   

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION - You are ultimately responsible for your own travel/accommodation bookings.  Should the Event be rescheduled or cancelled, no compensation for such bookings will be available.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY - Thomson Reuters will not accept any liability for damages or loss of property or valuables belonging to any delegate/attendee attending the Event.
