Shigehiko Ishimoto, Partner, Mori Hamada & Matsumoto
Shigehiko Ishimoto is a partner with 30 years of experience. As the expert of China, Korea and East Asia practice, he has engaged long in a wide range of transactions in this region, and in charge of the firm’s China practice, Korea practice and Taiwan practice. He is also a well-recognized expert of international trade law area, such as export control and FDI regulation.  Since 2014, he has been appointed as a member of the Sub-Committee on Unfair Trade Policy and Measures by the Industrial Structure Council of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). He served as chief representative of the firm’s Beijing Office from 2002 to 2010 and has served as chief representative of Shanghai Office since 2015. He has been frequently recognized as a leading figure in the category of “International Trade” in “Chambers and Partners (Global and Asia Pacific)”, and “Corporate and M&A Law” in “The Best Lawyers in Japan”.  Admitted in Japan (1994-) and the State of New York (2001-). Graduated from The University of Tokyo (LL.B., 1992), and New York University, School of Law (LL.M., 2000).

이시모토 시게히코, 파트너, 모리 하마다 & 마츠모토
이시모토 시게히코는 30년의 경력을 가진 파트너 변호사입니다. 한국, 중국 및 동아시아 업무에 관한 전문가로서 오랫동안 다양한 거래에 관여해 왔으며 로펌에서 한국 업무, 중국 업무 및 대만 업무의 책임자를 맡고 있습니다. 또한, 수출입 규제 및 외국인 직접투자 규제 등 국제 무역법 분야에서 인정받는 전문가 입니다. 2014년부터 일본 경제산업성 산업구조심의회 불공정무역정책 및 조치 조사 소위원회 위원으로서 위촉되어 활동 중입니다. 2002년부터 2010년까지 베이징 사무소의 대표를 역임했으며, 2015년부터 상하이 사무소의 대표를 맡고 있습니다. “Chambers and Partners (Global and Asia Pacific)”이 정하는 “International Trade” 부문과 “The Best Lawyers in Japan” 이 정하는 “Corporate and M&A Law” 부문에서 주도적인 인물로 여러 번 선정되었습니다. 도쿄대학(법학사, 1992년) 및 New York University, School of Law(LL.M., 2000년)를 졸업하고 일본(1994년부터)과 뉴욕주(2001년부터)에서 변호사 자격을 취득했습니다.


Masayuki Aoyama, Senior Associate, Mori Hamada & Matsumoto
Masayuki Aoyama is a senior associate admitted in Japan and the State of New York.  He has engaged in various fields of finance (J-REITs, asset management, investment funds, aircraft financing, and real estate) and international transactions (including South Korean practice) based in Tokyo and Singapore from 2012.  He is a native Korean speaker with extensive experience in many areas of Korean practice.  With working experience with major Korean law firms, he has a strong network among these firms and utilizes it to support clients.  Graduated from Keio University (LL.B., 2007), The University of Tokyo School of Law (J.D., 2010), and UCLA School of Law (LL.M., 2020).

아오야마 마사유키, 시니어 어쏘시에이트, 모리 하마다 & 마츠모토
마사유키 아오야마는 일본과 뉴욕주에서 변호사 자격을 취득한 시니어 어쏘시에이트입니다. 2012년부터 도쿄와 싱가포르를 거점으로 다양한 금융 분야(J-REIT, 에셋 매니지먼트, 투자 펀드, 항공기 금융, 부동산) 및 국제 거래(한국 업무 포함)에 관여해 왔습니다. 한국어를 모국어로 하여 여러 분야를 아우른 한국 업무를 통해서 폭넓은 경험을 쌓았습니다. 한국 내 주요 대형 로펌에서 근무한 경험을 가지고 있어서 로펌 사이의 탄탄한 네트워크를 활용하여 고객을 지원하고 있습니다. 게이오대학교(법학사, 2007년), 도쿄대학 로스쿨(법무박사, 2010년), UCLA , School of Law(LL.M., 2020년)를 졸업했습니다.


Hong, Sung IL, Solution Consultant, Thomson Reuters Asia Emerging Markets
Sung IL is an AI and Legal Tech Solution Consultant with 15 years of extensive in-house legal experience at IBM. He specializes in managing complex transactions, copyright and trademark matters, and providing consultative legal support to business units. Additionally, he has IT expertise, gained from 17 years in IT solutions and services business units
 

Jihwan Joo, General Counsel, Danaher Korea
Jihwan Joo is a dual-qualified legal professional (Korea & California) and CIPP/E certified privacy expert with extensive in-house and law firm experience. Serving as General Counsel at Danaher since 2021, he previously held key legal positions at Oracle and Yulchon LLC.  With expertise in corporate governance, labor law, privacy, and M&A, Jihwan’s early career also includes business roles at SK Telecom and NAVER Corp.


Jihyun Cho, Market Access and Public Affairs Director, Novo Nordisk Korea
Jihyun is an attorney at law of Korea with extensive in-house experience. Having served as a General Counsel at Novo Nordisk Korea since 2017 to 2023 and at Hanmi Pharmaceutical company since 2011, she previously held various key legal positions, with the special expertise in the healthcare laws, corporate governance, labor law and intellectual property laws. With these various roles and business acumen, from the legal expert, Jihyun expanded her role to the business area of the Market access and Public Affairs at Novo Nordisk Korea in 2023. She has been leading many government and regulatory projects in her new roles.


Roger S. Chae, Group General Counsel, Global Legal Compliance & Audit, Hanon Systems
Roger Chae is the General Counsel for Hanon Systems’ global operations in over twenty countries and is supported by team members in the Americas, Europe, South Africa, and Asia Pacific. Roger started his legal career as a Prosecutor in the United States. With a quest to continually learn, he served in various roles in the courts, at international law firms and multinational corporations. He particularly enjoys commercial and legal strategies, projects focused on sustainability/growth, finding solutions, and making a difference. Roger grew up in Hawaii and completed his undergraduate studies in International Business at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and obtained his law degree from the University of San Francisco. His interests in global business are complemented by an MBA from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business.

Stephen Kim, Senior Counsel, Unity Technologies Korea
Stephen Kim is a seasoned in-house legal counsel with 13 years of experience in multinational companies (Unity Technologies and Samsung Electronics) and law firms within the technology sector. Currently serving as a sole legal counsel at Unity Technologies Korea, Stephen handles a broad range of local, global, and cross-border legal matters. With a certification in Intellectual Property Law and a background in Computer Science, Stephen brings a unique blend of legal acumen and technological insight to his role. Stephen is the author of a personal development book titled, “Fade Away”.

 
Yale Han, Director and Head of the Overseas Legal Department, LG Display 
Yale is the Deputy General Counsel at LG Display and manages a department business-oriented attorneys situated over three locations (South Korea, China and Vietnam). He has been at LG Display for over ten years and previously led the Litigation and Transactions Teams, respectively, before taking over the Department three years ago.   Prior to joining LG Display, Yale worked for the Honorable Joseph A. Greenaway, Jr. (Ret.) in the District Court of New Jersey, NBC Universal Inc.'s in-house litigation team and boutique litigation firm in New Jersey.
