近日，史密夫斐尔律师事务所任命合伙人刘依兰律师为其北京及上海办公室的领导者。此外，刘律师将继续领导该所的中国公司业务，未来将向大中华区管理合伙人艾迈修(Matt Emsley)律师汇报。

刘依兰律师过去20年来一直在史密夫斐尔工作，并于2005年起常驻律所上海办公室，2016年开始担任上海办公室负责人。去年5月，她刚刚被任命为该所中国公司业务负责人。

刘律师专注于公司事务领域，擅长处理外资企业在中国境内的并购、外商直接投资、私募股权、合资、公司重组、竞争法和合规性等各类公司业务，及商业运作及监管相关的法律咨询服务。

史密夫斐尔在一份新闻稿中表示，此举将进一步强化其北京、上海、香港三家办公室和合作融合。

“刘律师的任命将加强本所两个内地办公室彼此之间的联系，进而促进与香港办公室和科伟的律师们展开更深入的合作。我们要将在交易和争议解决的法律服务优势重新聚焦于中国快速增长的行业，包括能源转型、私募以及科技行业。”该所亚洲管理合伙人戴枫媚说。

史密夫斐尔的中国业务已经发展40余年，目前该所的中国内地办公室以及联营的科伟律师事务所共有60名合伙人和律师。

HSF refreshes firm’s China management

Herbert Smith Freehills has appointed Shanghai office head Nanda Lau as the new head of both of its Beijing and Shanghai offices. Lau will continue to oversee HSF’s China cooperate business and she will report to the firm’s Greater China managing partner Matt Emsley.

Joined the firm back in 2002, Lau has been with HSF for twenty years. She moved to the Shanghai office in 2005 and began to head it since 2016. She was named the firm’s head of China corporate practice last May.

An experienced corporate partner, Lau advises on China-related cross-border M&A and corporate transactions.

HSF said in a press release that this new appointment will enhance the integration of its three offices, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, in China. It will also encourage interactions between Hong Kong and its associate firm, Kewei Law Firm.

With over forty years of history in China,  HSF currently has 60 partners and lawyers in the firm's mainland China offices and Kewei.
