Bird & Bird has promoted intellectual property lawyer Christine Yiu to its partnership in Shanghai, along with 10 other lawyers in the firm globally.

With a background in science, Yiu focuses on patent litigation and has experience in contentious IP matters having handled many copyright, design, trade mark, patent, unfair competition, and trade secret disputes.

She has worked with clients in the semiconductor, software, consumer electronics, telecommunication, construction equipment, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries since she qualified as a solicitor in 2005. She had also practised in the UK with Bird & Bird, and joined the firm’s Shanghai office from another international firm in 2010.
