King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has hired partners Li Xiaoyang and Han Yue from JunHe, as well as the entire China team of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, including its managing partner Rocky Lee.
In September last year, Cadwalader announced it would be closing its Beijing and Hong Kong offices, cutting 25 staff, including four partners. Lee was Cadwalader's Asia managing partner and head of its Greater China practice. Prior to Cadwalader, he headed DLA Piper's Asia private equity and venture capital practice.
Li, who was practiced law at KWM and held his management position between 2002 and 2006. Before that, he was a senior partner at Jun He Law Offices in Beijing.
Li and Han will be based in Beijing. Meanwhile, Lee, who is set to lead KWM’s U.S. corporate practice, will split his time between Beijing and Silicon Valley.
