Clifford Chance is relocating Matthew Newick, the firm’s head of banking litigation in London, to Hong Kong as it looks to bolster its Asia-Pacific disputes practice.
Newick, who will join the firm's Hong Kong Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, has 25 years of experience specialising in commercial dispute resolution, particularly in complex financial disputes and regulatory investigations. His experience has involved a range of financial institutions, products and industry documentation; numerous regulators, exchanges and prosecuting authorities; civil, criminal, regulatory and administrative proceedings, tribunals and remedies; different domestic courts and all types of dispute resolution techniques: Court, arbitration, mediation and negotiation.
“I am delighted to welcome Matthew to the region,” said Peter Charlton, Clifford Chance’s regional managing partner of Asia-Pacific, in a statement. “As a highly experienced and very well-respected member of Clifford Chance's global litigation practice, I'm certain that he will make an excellent addition to our already leading litigation team.”
Newick will be travelling regularly to Hong Kong and the rest of Asia-Pacific over the coming months before permanently relocating this summer.
