Clyde & Co has recruited Yan Gong in Beijing as a partner and head of its trademark practice in China from China PAT Intellectual Property Office.

Gong, who will join Clyde & Co Westlink, the UK firm’s China joint venture, started as a trademark attorney at Liu Shen & Associates in 2005, and then joined Australian firm Allens Arthur Robinson in 2008. In 2014, she was hired as an associate at Bird & Bird, before moving to China PAT.  

Her hiring comes at a time when Clyde has been looking to bulk up its China IP offering. In July last year, the firm hired partner Elliot Papageorgiou and a team of four China-qualified IP lawyers in Shanghai from Rouse. Clyde is aiming to build a one-stop-shop for IP in the country, particularly in relation to IP infringements under China’s BRI.

Clyde, which opened its first mainland China office in 2006, and presently has three offices there, entered into a joint venture in Chongqing with domestic firm West Link Partnership in 2013. The Clyde & Co Westlink joint venture focuses on IP, dispute resolution and corporate work. 

原派特恩知识产权合伙人加入其礼联营律所任商标主管

其礼律师事务所北京办公室迎来知识产权合伙人Yan Gong的加入，担任其中国商标业务的主管合伙人。加入其礼之前，Yan Gong在北京派特恩知识产权代理有限公司做合伙人。

Yan Gong将加入其礼律师事务所与西联律师事务所的联营律所——其礼西联联营律师事务所。在此之前，Yan Gong2005年曾在柳沈律师事务所做商标律师，2008年加入澳大利亚安德慎国际律师事务所，2014年转至英国鸿鹄律师事务所做律师。

Yan Gong的加入，正值其礼大力拓展在中国的知识产权业务。去年7月，其礼从罗思（上海）咨询有限公司迎来潘安略律师，与潘安略律师同时加入的还有四名具备中国执业资质的律师，均加入其礼西联联营律师事务所上海办公室。在“一带一路”的倡议下，其礼致力于在中国提供知识产权“一站式”服务，特别是知识产权侵权类业务。

其礼早在2006年在中国大陆设立了第一家办公室，目前为止在大陆共有三家办公室。总部位于伦敦的其礼律师事务所于2013年与重庆西联律师事务所宣布联营，专注为客户提供知识产权、争议解决、公司业务等法律服务。
