Covington & Burling has strengthened its intellectual property (IP) offering with the addition of Ruixue Ran as a partner at its Beijing office.
Prior to joining Covington, Ran was a partner at Jun He Law Offices. At Covington, she will be assisting the firm’s multinational clients on their cross-border intellectual property issues involving China. She counts advising on patent, trade secret, trademark and other types of unfair competition claims among her strengths.
Ran, who received legal training both in China and the U.S, has assisted Chinese companies on U.S litigation in state and district courts, as well as on commercial IP transactions. She has also advised both Chinese and international clients regarding IP disputes in China’s courts.
“This addition in China also complements the IP expertise we have added in Seoul over the past year to support our Asian clients,” said Timothy Hester, chair of the firm’s management committee.
