French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel (GLN) has appointed Paul-Emmanuel Benachi as a partner at its Shanghai office.

Benachi joined GLN from Lefèvre Pelletier & Associés. He has practised in China for nine years, advising investing foreign companies. He focuses predominantly on corporate law and merger and acquisition matters, and cross-border transactions and restructuring. He also regularly advises clients on retail, real estate and labour law matters.

“I am delighted to be joining GLN’s China team during its 20th anniversary year in the country. I am looking forward to working closely with the team, and to help grow the firm's already excellent client base even further,” said Benachi in a statement.

“His appointment reflects the continuing commitment of the firm to its strong China practice. Paul-Emmanuel’s experience of working in China, and the depth and breadth of his expertise will be a major asset to the firm,” added Antoine de la Gatinais, head of GLN's Shanghai office. “We are confident that our clients will benefit considerably from his arrival.”
