China’s Han Kun Law Offices has hired three new partners in Beijing, including Xiaoming Li, formerly head of White & Case’s China practice.
Li, a specialist in cross-border finance and M&A transactions, headed White & Case’s China practice since 2005, after joining from the legacy King & Wood. He has also worked with Debevoise & Plimpton in New York and Hong Kong.
Key deals that Li worked on at White & Case include the $5.85 billion sale of a Peruvian copper mine to a Chinese consortium by Glencore Xstrata in 2014. He also advised China Development Bank on a $800 million loan to Volvo Personvagnar AB in 2013.
Han Kun has also hired partner Li Wei (David) in Beijing, while its Hong Kong associate firm Miao & Co. hired King & Wood Mallesons counsel Ye Yurong as a partner.
Li, who was previously a partner at a China domestic firm, specialises in venture capital and PE investments, domestic and overseas listings, M&A and FDI. Ye’s expertise is in Hong Kong capital market and M&A, pre-IPO investments and general corporate matters.
