In an effort to grow its international presence, Beijing firm Jincheng Tongda & Neal (JT&N) has brought Stephen Maloy on board as a senior adviser. Maloy’s appointment is part of the firm’s strategy to build its capacity to service clients requiring both domestic and global experience.
At JT&N, Maloy will advise on the development of global businesses, including new market entries, acquisitions, alliances, and joint ventures. He will also assist in corporate governance, compliance, and the development of in-house legal operations.
“We are actively seeking to build our knowledge of the global business and legal market so that we can provide unique value to our clients – both Chinese and international,” said Max Tian, senior partner and head of management at JT&N’s Beijing office, in a statement.
Maloy is currently a governor of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, an adjunct professor of law at the Shanghai Jiaotong University Law School, and a member of the Lawyer Advisory Committee of the School of Transnational Law at Beijing University. He is also senior adviser to Malaysian law firm Zaid Ibrahim & Co, a position he will maintain despite the JT&N appointment.
Maloy joins the firm from General Electric China, where he served as the company’s Asia-Pacific general counsel.
