K&L Gates has named Siew Kam Boon as a partner in its M&A and private equity practices. Boon will split his time between the firm’s Singapore and Shanghai offices.
Boon was previously with O’Melveny & Myers. She specialises in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as private equity transactions across Asia. She also represents private equity and venture capital funds, special situations groups, sovereign wealth funds, and corporate clients on transactions across various sectors - including natural resources, technology, media, and consumer goods - and has been involved in some of the region’s largest high-profile M&A and private equity deals.
Highly regarded for her work on a variety of related corporate matters, Boon is known for acting on transactions involving Indonesia and, in particular, deals between China and Indonesia.
“She brings deep knowledge of the markets and business networks in Southeast Asia and China, wide experience in leading and executing deals in the region, and great energy and enthusiasm, all of which complements and enhances our regional practice,” said David Tang, K&L Gates’ managing partner, Asia.
