Loeb & Loeb has recruited former Paul Hastings capital markets and M&A specialist Roger Peng as a partner at its Beijing office. Prior to his stint with Paul Hastings, Peng was also the managing partner of Beijing firm Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells).
An experienced lawyer in M&A, private equity, venture capital, and complex commercial transactions, Peng focuses on transactions in the telecommunications, internet, media, software, and other technology sectors in particular. He has advised many investment funds and other clients in private equity transactions and in cross border M&As.
“Roger’s addition to our team in Beijing is the representation of our commitment to expand the office with the market’s top talent,” said Michael D. Beck, partner and chairman at Loeb & Loeb, in a statement. “Loeb has had a robust practice in China for many years now, and the continued growth of our global capital markets, M&A, and private equity capabilities is a strategic focus for us.”
Peng speaks fluent English and Mandarin. Before moving to Beijing in 2000, he used to practise in New York City. Speaking on his appointment, Peng said: “I look forward to working with such a sophisticated team on the ground in Beijing and in the U.S.”
