Morrison & Foerster has hired real estate transactional lawyer Maria Wang from Allen & Overy as a corporate partner at its Shanghai office.
Wang’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, including complex M&A matters, joint ventures, financings, asset disposals and project developments and management. She has handled equity and debt real estate transactions for banks, funds and developers during her time at Allen & Overy, prior to which she practised with Chambers & Company in Melbourne.
“We are very excited to welcome Maria to MoFo. Her PRC background, extensive experience of working on complex, high-end real estate transactions and her sophisticated knowledge of PRC real estate transactions, as well as offshore legal regimes, make Maria an asset to our team and our clients,” said Eric Piesner, firmwide managing partner for Asia and head of the firm’s Asia real estate practice.
After Wang’s arrival, MoFo’s Shanghai office has six lawyers altogether, two of whom are partners.
