Following the hires of partners Dr. Bernd-Uwe Stucken and Liu Wei from Salans in June this year, Pinsent Masons has further swelled its ranks in Shanghai. The two partners have been joined by their team of 13 lawyers and 12 support staff, strengthening the firm’s tax, real estate, and antitrust expertise in China.
The team consists of senior associates Michael Lin and Ginger Zhou, of counsel Yun Wei and Aiping Bao, associates Yi Xiao, Jiazi Guo, Liang Xin, Furong Ren, Robbie Chen, Haiting Xu, and Fei Yang, and translators Jane Ma and Weilan Zhou.
“This news marks another important step in the development of our Chinese practice,” said Ian Laing, Asia head at Pinsent Masons. “There are strong links between Shanghai, our Munich office and our German desk in London, especially given the strength of manufacturing in Germany and the importance of both Germany and Shanghai to our advanced manufacturing and technology services sector.”
The growth of the firm’s Shanghai office also coincides with its launch in Paris, which will boost the irm’s ability to support European clients across Asia, added Laing.
