Pinsent Masons has hired partners Bernd-Uwe Stucken and Liu Wei from Salans in a bid to fortify its China corporate practice. Both of them will be based in Shanghai and will focus on corporate, M&A and commercial work to grow the firm’s practice expertise of inbound investment in Chinese manufacturing and technology.

Stucken is Salans’ Shanghai office managing partner and has practised in China for 23 years. As a former chairman of the Shanghai chapter of the German Chamber of Commerce, he has extensive experience working with German multinational clients expanding into China. His practice principally focuses on foreign direct investment, M&A, and enterprise restructuring. Stucken is fluent in Mandarin, English, French and German.

With over 10 years of experience, Liu Wei has advised a range of China-based manufacturing and technology enterprises on cross border transactions. He also represents multinationals and private equity firms on Chinese real estate and project investments, and assists in M&As and international joint venture restructurings.
