International IP firm Rouse has appointed Luke Minford as its new head of UK operations. Minford assumes the role after six years heading the firm's offices in China.
"Many of my peers in China have questioned why I would move to the UK when 'it's all happening here in China'. I firmly believe that the UK has an opportunity to once again lead IP strategy and service around the world," said Minford. "The key is in building the right connections between the UK and the rest of the world, especially China, and that is where I think I can make a difference."
With his team in the UK, Minford will strength the firm's relationship with existing clients such as BP, Diageo, GSK, Nokia, Orange, Shell and Sony Ericsson.
Prior to moving to the UK, Minford spent 14 years as an IP specialist in China, six of which were spent as the Rouse China country manager. His China role was filled earlier this year by Linda Chang in Shanghai. ALB
