Shearman & Sterling has bolstered its China M&A practice with the addition of Stephanie Tang as a partner from Kirkland & Ellis.

Tang is based in Shearman's Hong Kong office.

At K&E, Tang used to represent Chinese issuers in venture capital financings and other capital-raising transactions, she specialized in public and private cross-border M&A transactions, U.S take-private and private equity transactions.

“We are seeing very high client demand on the inbound and outbound side in China, and Stephanie’s skillset is ideal,” said Paul Strecker, head of Shearman’s Asia M&A practice, in a statement.
