Stephenson Harwood further enhanced its construction and dispute resolution practice in Greater China with the hire of Phillip Rompotis as consultant at its Hong Kong office.

Rompotis has over 17 years of experience across Asia as a building, construction and engineering practitioner, both as a solicitor and advocate. Prior to joining Stephenson Harwood, he was a practising barrister in Australia.

Rompotis’ practice covers many industry sectors, and he has acted as counsel to both contractors and employers. He also advises on the professional liability of architects and engineers. Phillip is a member of the Hong Kong Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and is an Accredited Mediator.

“I am delighted to be rejoining the legal community in Hong Kong and, in particular, to be joining the construction team at Stephenson Harwood,” said Rompotis, commenting on his move.

Rompotis’ arrival follows the appointment of Martin Downey as the head of the construction practice at Stephenson Harwood in Greater China.

Commenting on his newest team member, Downey said: “I am delighted that Phillip has decided to join our team. His substantial experience will be welcomed by our clients, and will further strengthen our construction and dispute resolution practice.” ALB
