Kenneth Tung, a well-known veteran in Shanghai's in-house legal fraternity, has recently moved from the automotive industry to the food & beverage industry. He has left The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he has held the role of legal affairs director for Asia Pacific since 2006, and joined PepsiCo as the legal director for China.

In his new post, Tung (pictured) is guaranteed to have a busy schedule for the next few years, as PepsiCo has reconfirmed its long-term commitment to growing business in China. The company announced in May that it was to invest US$2.5bn in its food & beverage businesses in China over the next three years. The new investment will see the US beverage and snack maker opening 10-12 manufacturing plants in China, mostly in the inner western Chinese provinces of Gansu, Henan and Yunnan.

Tung has been in China since 1994, and has worked as general counsel and legal director at Honeywell International and Eastman Kodak, and as associate with Coudert Brothers. ALB
