Wang Jing & Co (WJC) has promoted Cao Yanghui and Xu Jun to the firm’s partnership.  Both Cao and Xu are lawyers in the firm’s shipping practice. The appointments bring the total number of partners at the firm to 17.

Cao joined WJC in 2003. From 2005 through 2006 he participated in the Lord Chancellor's Trainings Scheme for Young Chinese Lawyer and received training from the SOAS at the University of London. He also spent time in the London office of Linklaters, Quadrant Chambers, and more recently with the Hong Kong office of Ince & Co. Cao returned to WJC in 2009 to lead the firm’s Admiralty department.

Xu joined WJC in 2004, and was promoted to head of the firm’s Shanghai Admiralty team in 2008. Xu also boasts extensive private sector experience having worked as the deputy and general manager of an international transport company for almost a decade.

The firm has also added to its IP group. Following the departure of former IP manager Pen Kai, Jiang Yuandong will take the reins of the firm’s IP group.

Jiang, who has extensive experience in the area, has been dealing with cases concerning counterfeits, product infringement and trademark counterfeiting in the fields of automobile components, motor-driven tools, telecom products, fast moving consumer goods, drugs and other sectors. ALB
