The numbers around China’s One Belt, One Road (OBOR) proposal are staggering. In total, it encompasses 65 countries in Asia, Europe and Africa, covering a total population of 4.4 billion people and total GDP of $21 trillion. As the government looks to expand trade between China and other OBOR countries to $2.5 trillion within a decade, Hong Kong has emerged as a key part of the jigsaw. We speak to lawyers in Hong Kong about the kind of legal work OBOR will bring, and how they are preparing for it.

Additionally, we have a chat with Simon Beswick, the global CEO of Osborne Clarke, about how the firm’s recent expansion into China fits into its global strategy. And finally, we profile a promising legal-tech startup called Lexcarts, which offers a lawyer-search platform.
