Eversheds plans to open its Beijing office in December. The UK firm was recently granted its licence to practice in the city, which will bring the total number of its Asian operations to four. At the moment, Eversheds has offices in Shanghai, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The new Beijing offering will initially be headed up by Eversheds’ Asia managing partner, Nick Seddon. It aims to provide full corporate legal service to clients in the region and internationally, with a focus on inbound and outbound investments.

In a statement from the firm, Seddon said: “Asia has been a strategic market for us and our clients for many years. The licence to practice in Beijing is a big step in our ongoing growth strategy in Asia, and we look forward to building on the success of our other offices in the region.”
