Beijing-headquartered Jingtian & Gongcheng has opened a new office in the city of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province, its seventh office till date.

Jingtian, which also has offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Tianjin, and Hong Kong, expects the Nanjing office to play an important role for work stemming from the Yangtze Delta region.

The Nanjing office, which focuses on capital markets, M&A, cross-border investment, dispute resolution and private equity, will have 40 to 50 fee-earners within three years, according to the firm.

In December 2016, China opened its third Circuit Court of the Supreme People’s Court in Nanjing. The court mainly handles major administrative, civil and commercial cases that must be heard by the SPC from the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Fujian, and Shanghai Municipality.

Following that, a number of large Chinese firms have opened offices in Nanjing since last year, including Tiantong & Partners, King & Wood Mallesons, Hiways Law Firm, Zhong Lun Law Firm, Guantao Law Firm and King & Capital Law Firm. Jincheng Tongda & Neal is expected to open an office soon as well.

自此，多家京沪律所陆续在南京开设分所，比如：天同、金杜、海华永泰、中伦、观韬中茂、京都等等。据悉，金诚同达也正在紧密筹备南京办公室的开业。
