Despite only having joined Jincheng Tongda & Neal less than a month ago, senior partner Jin Tao, is already inundated with work having just completed a high profile Japan-China M&A deal.
“I am happy to take on more responsibilities and challenges, which is one of reasons for my joining,” said Jin, who joined JT&N from Jun He earlier this year. “In addition, the firm’s partnership policy and the development potential are also appealing to me.”
Jin, who specialises in foreign investment, M&A and IPO, boasts an impressive CV. In addition to his time at Jun He (where he was a partner based in Shenzhen from 2005 to 2010), Jin worked in the Hong Kong office of US heavyweight Sullivan & Cromwell, and before that was the general counsel of JP Morgan Chase’s underwriting business in capital markets and to the bank’s Greater China M&A team.
Jin expects transactional levels in China to remain high in the year ahead, and predicts they may even exceed the impressive benchmarks set in 2010. He said the firm would look to effect more lateral hires as inbound and outbound FDI levels increase.ALB
