Zou Qiushuang, former Jun He Law Offices senior associate has co-founded a new law firm called Wangheng Partners in Beijing along with Zhang Zhisheng, a former Duan & Duan partner, and ex-Fangda Partners senior associate Zhong Yueping.
Zou told Asian Legal Business that Wangheng had received its licence on Sep. 28 this year, and began operations on Nov. 16.
Apart from three partners, the firm has two consultants, and will recruit two more lawyers shortly.
Specialising in venture capital, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions, Zou was a senior associate with Jun He Law Offices for three years, prior to which she was a legal consultant with Morrison Foerster in Beijing.
Zhong also focuses on venture capital, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Fangda, she worked for Herbert Smith Freehills, and Han Kun Law Offices before that.
Zhang’s areas of expertise include financing and investment disputes, antitrust, and competition laws. He worked for Han Kun law offices before joining Duan & Duan.
Zou said that based on the three partners’ expertise, the firm would mainly focus on the areas of venture capital, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions in the coming year. “We would mainly represent middle- and small-sized firms, and help them with their financing,” she said.
