Norton Rose Group has relocated Michael Wilton, a corporate finance partner, to Beijing from its Melbourne office.
Wilton, who was the head of the M&A and equity capital markets group for Norton Rose Australia, specialises in equity and debt capital markets, and has more than two decades experience in M&A. He is also a long-standing member of Australia-China business Council.
Wilton believes that the unprecedented growth and a thirst for resources has meant that Chinese corporations are increasingly looking to access overseas markets through mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.
"This is coupled with an increasing trend toward securing additional equity financing in offshore exchanges including Hong Kong, London, New York, Toronto and Australia" said Wilton.
Wilton's appointment means the firm now has eight partners in Beijing.ALB
