Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP has boosted its Greater China practice with the hiring of Charles Ching as a corporate partner in Shanghai.

Prior to joining Weil, Ching was a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Hong Kong office. He has experience advising clients on complex private equity and M&A transactions and securities offerings.

A fluent Mandarin speaker, Ching represents corporate clients and financial investors in cross-border M&A transactions as well as in pre-IPO, cornerstone and PIPE investments and debt offerings.

“Charles has experience advising a range of clients on complex corporate matters and will further strengthen our corporate practice in China,” said Akiko Mikumo, Weil’s Asia managing partner in a statement.
