Zhong Lun Law Firm has expanded its business in the U.S. by boosting its New York office, opening offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and hiring six partners hire in the country.
Five of the new hires, Xiao Ling, Lee Mathews, Kerry Kaltenbach, Li Ying, Rowena Lin were previously with legacy firm Dacheng Law offices, now known as Dentons in the U.S.
Meanwhile, bankruptcy lawyer Dick Sindicich joins Zhong Lun as a non-equity partner based in Los Angeles.
Xiao, an experienced M&A lawyer, and Lin, a corporate lawyer, were managing partners of Dacheng’s Los Angeles and San Francisco branches. They will head Zhong Lun’s Los Angeles and San Francisco office after the move and will be based in the New York office as well.
Sindicich and Mathews, a dispute resolution expert, will be part of Zhong Lun’s Los Angeles office. Trade and intellectual property disputes specialist Kaltenbach and M&A attorney Li, who is also a non-equity partner, will be based in New York.
Zhong Lun’s first U.S. office is located in New York, which was launched in 2013 by hiring partner T.K. Chang and Philip Zhang. The firm also has a three-partner London office and a one-partner Tokyo office.
Dentons has been integrating Dacheng’s overseas offices since their merger last year. Recently, Dacheng restructured Dacheng Wong Alliance (DCWA), its erstwhile joint law venture in Singapore, afterDentons joined forces with Rodyk & Davidson, Singapore’s oldest law firm.
