Minter Ellison’s Shanghai office managing partner Wan Li has defected to DLA Piper where he will lead the firm’s corporate team in Shanghai. Before working in Shanghai, Wan worked in Melbourne, Sydney and Hong Kong.

DLA Piper head of corporate Mabel Lui said the firm was seeking to bolster its corporate practice in response to growing demand for inbound and outbound opportunities and investment in Greater China.

Wan specialises in corporate transactions relating to Greater China with a focus on the infrastructure and energy & resources sectors. Wan has spent the last two decades working on matters relating to China, advising on M&A transactions and restructuring.

The Minters website still had Wan listed as the only contact for its Shanghai office as of 11 January 2010.
