Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has strengthened its Greater China offering with the hire of partners Patricia Tan Openshaw in Hong Kong and Fang Xue in Beijing.

Previously a partner at Paul Hastings’ Hong Kong office, Openshaw focuses on M&A, private equity, finance and project development matters related to the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Xue joins Gibson Dunn from Shearman & Sterling and specialises in corporate matters including cross-border M&A, private equity and take-private transactions. She also advises companies on corporate governance and compliance issues.

“Both women are held in high regard in the Asian business and legal communities,” said Ken Doran, chairman and managing partner of Gibson Dunn, in a statement.

“Their practices will complement our existing strengths in Asia and further enhance our expanding presence in China.”
