Big Four professional services firm EY’s Chinese legal affiliate, Chen & Co., has expanded its reach to the southern tech hub of Shenzhen after merging with Guangdong Allied Law Firm in that city. 

Allied Law Firm was established in 1999 by chief executive officer Wendy Sun, who is now the head of Chen & Co.’s Shenzhen branch. The four-partner Allied handles corporate law, foreign investment, real estate, government affairs and dispute resolution.

The Shanghai-based Chen & Co. joined EY’s global legal network in 2014. It also has offices in Beijing and Hong Kong. In the latter city, the firm also has an association with EY’s Hong Kong member firm, LC Lawyers.

Chen & Co. expects the Shenzhen branch will offer services related to capital markets, cross-border M&A, banking and finance, real estate, intellectual property and data protection, and compliance management and risk control.

EY currently has more than 2200 legal practitioners in over 80 countries.
