江西赣锋锂业集团股份有限公司（“赣锋锂业”）近日其通过全资子公司赣锋国际，收购了主营业务位于阿根廷的锂矿集团Lithea公司100%股份，收购金额不超过9.62亿美元。

奋迅·贝克麦坚时（上海自贸区）联营办公室为赣锋锂业提供服务，孖士打律师事务所则代表卖方Lithea公司参与交易。

Lithea公司主要从事锂矿业权的收购、勘探及开发，旗下的主要资产包括位于阿根廷的两块优质锂盐湖资产。赣锋锂业公告称：“本次交易有利于公司进一步加强上游锂资源布局，符合公司上下游一体化和新能源汽车产业发展战略。”

Baker McKenzie, Mayer Brown on $962 mln Sino-Argentino salt lake deal

Baker McKenzie has advised Ganfeng Lithium Group on the acquisition of 100 percent equity interest in Argentina-focused lithium explorer Lithea, through its wholly owned subsidiary GFL International, for up to $ 962 million.

Mayer Brown advised the seller of the deal.

Lithea engages in the acquisition, exploration and development of lithium mining rights and owns two lithium salt lake assets in Argentina's Salta province. "This transaction will help the Company further strengthen the layout of upstream lithium resources, and increase the company's resource self-sufficiency rate," according to the Company's announcement.

Baker’s multijurisdictional team was led by partner Zhang Hong, head of the private equity practice at Baker McKenzie FenXun Joint Operation in Shanghai.
