Clifford Chance has represented United Luck Group Holdings on its $1 billion acquisition of app maker Outfit7, which turned to Taylor Wessing for advice.

Outfit 7, which is headquartered in both London and Cyprus, is best known for its “Talking Tom” and “Talking Angela” apps, which were named in 2016 as among the most downloaded apps of all time for Android devices.  

Odvetniki Šelih & partnerji handled matters related to Slovenia while Antis Triantafyllides & Sons provided advice on Cypriot law.

Zhejiang Jinke Entertainment, a China-based chemicals and TMT company, is also involved in the deal, entering into an exclusive framework agreement with United Luck to gain 100 percent of the shares of Outfit7.

Terence Foo, CC’s China co-managing partner, led the deal, with support from counsel Hong Zhang in the Beijing office. Partner Timothy Democratis advised on the debt financing. 

Global head of media partner Daniel Sandelson and employment partner Sonia Gilbert from CC’s London office also acted on the transaction.
