方达律师事务所合伙人师虹律师近日被任命为新一届ICC仲裁院副主席，这是历史上中国律师第一次被任命为ICC仲裁院副主席。
师虹律师专注于国际商事仲裁和涉外诉讼业务，专长领域包括股权并购、石油天然气开采合作、酒店管理、飞机租赁、建筑工程等。她曾代表多家跨国公司及大型中国企业处理在中国法院的诉讼案件，以及在国际及中国仲裁机构的仲裁案件。她还作为仲裁员审理过50余起仲裁案件。
资料显示，师虹律师曾于90年代在中国国际经济贸易仲裁委员会（CIETAC）任职法律顾问，后在美国高特兄弟律师事务所北京和纽约办公室执业6年。她于2005年加入方达北京办公室。
师虹律师的副主席任职从7月1日正式开始，任期三年。
ICC仲裁院成立于1923年，是世界上最重要的国际商事争议解决机构之一，曾连续多年位列英国伦敦玛丽女王大学年度国际仲裁调查全球最受欢迎仲裁机构之首。ICC仲裁院由1位主席、17位副主席，和来自约121个国家和地区的178位委员组成。
6月中旬，ICC仲裁院刚刚选举出近百年历史上第一位女性主席：瑞生国际律师事务所前任合伙人Claudia Salomon。
ICC Court elects Fangda partner as first Chinese vice-president in history
Helen Shi, a partner at Fangda Partners, has been elected as the Vice-President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. Shi is the first Chinese lawyer to take up this position in the ICC Court’s almost 100-year history.
Shi focuses on dispute resolution, including international commercial arbitration and litigation. She has represented multinational companies and large domestic enterprises in a wide range of disputes, including disputes arising from equity acquisitions, oil and gas projects, hotel management, aircraft leasing, and construction. She has represented clients in litigation before the Chinese courts and in arbitrations before international and domestic arbitration institutions. She has also participated as an arbitrator in over 50 cases.
Shi worked for CIETAC as a case manager for three years back in the 1990s and then joined U.S. firm Coudert Brothers in Beijing and New York for six years. She joined Fangda in 2005 in Beijing.
Shi’s three-year mandate at ICC took effect from 1 July 2021.
Established in 1923, the ICC International Court of Arbitration is one of the world’s leading arbitral institutions which has been selected as the most favorable arbitration institution globally for many years. It consists of 1 president, 17 vice-presidents, and 178 members from around 121 countries and regions.
On 11 June, the Court had just elected Claudia Salomon, former Latham & Watkins partner, as its first female president in history.
