根据美国加利福尼亚北区法院公布的信息，中国芯片制造商长江存储已正式起诉美国芯片巨头美光科技及其全资子公司美光消费产品集团侵犯其8项美国专利。美国瑞格律师事务所常驻硅谷及旧金山知识产权诉讼合伙人Andrew Radsch将在本案中代理长江存储。
长江存储是中国最大的闪存芯片制造厂商。据悉，长江存储在起诉书中称，诉讼是为了终止美光广泛且未经授权使用长江存储专利创新。美光使用长江存储的专利技术，以抵御来自长江存储的竞争，并获得和保护市场份额。
环球时报指出，“这是中国存储芯片企业首次对美国芯片公司发起正式回击，是一起标志性事件。它也表明中国企业目前已占据全球领先地位，在存储芯片领域已不再受制于美国制裁”。
瑞格网站显示，Andrew Radsch 2006年起便在瑞格执业，从事知识产权诉讼领域工作。他经常代理TMT、生命健康及医疗器械领域客户参与相关诉讼。
Ropes & Gray represents YMTC on landmark IP suit against Micron
According to the website of US District Court for the Northern District of California, China's leading memory chip producer Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) has filed a lawsuit against US-based Micron Technology and its wholly owned subsidiary, Micron Consumer Products Group, for infringement of eight of YMTC's patents.
US firm Ropes & Gray’s Silicon Valley and San Francisco IP litigation partner Andrew Radsch is representing YMTC in this case.
YMTC said the lawsuit was meant to end Micron's widespread and unauthorized use of its patented innovations. YMTC cited Micron's illegal use of its patented technology to fend off market competition and gain and protect market share.
According to Chinese media Global Times, the move is a landmark event for Chinese memory chip enterprises to formally launch a counterattack against US chip companies, which also indicates that Chinese enterprises lead the world and are completely free from US sanctions in the field of memory chips.
