Kumar Sambasivan, General Counsel, Ayana Renewable Power

Kumar Sambasivan is an accomplished legal professional and corporate leader with over 30 years of experience. He has an impressive track record of working with some of the most prominent organizations in India. Before joining his current position at Ayana Renewable Power Pvt Ltd as General Counsel, Kumar Sambasivan has held significant roles in organisations such as Gamesa Renewable Pvt Ltd, Suzlon Energy Ltd, Essar Group, Punj Lloyd Ltd, HCL Technologies Ltd, GMR Group, TTK Group, and Madras High Court. Kumar Sambasivan’ s educational qualifications include a bachelor’s in commerce and a master’s in commerce from National College, Bangalore. He also holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Madras Law College. As a General Counsel, Kumar Sambasivan is responsible for overseeing all legal matters for the organisation, including compliance, regulatory issues, litigation, and risk management. 

K Subodh Kumar, Head, IP Services, Tata Consultancy Services

Mr. K Subodh Kumar is a well-rounded professional in technology and intellectual property Rights who has played diverse leadership roles in national capacity building initiatives. Presently, K Subodh Kumar is a member of the TCS Corporate IPR group leadership team and leads IP external relationship activities. He is also responsible to support internal business units for identification, mining of inventions, creation, protection, and valuation of Intellectual Property which encompass inter disciplinary technology domains and cuts across various business verticals.

Prior to TCS he has served one of India’s premier business associations and was instrumental in setting up of intellectual property cells which worked at national and state level capacity building of Indian Industry. He was involved in strategic industry consultancy projects with government bodies and international development agencies for technology upgradation, promotion & management of intellectual property rights.

Mr. K Subodh Kumar studied chemical technology at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras & holds a Master’s Degree. He also holds a post graduate diploma in Patents law from national academy of legal studies & research (NALSAR) and a certificate from World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) & university of South Africa (UNISA) for IP specialization Program.

Smitha Chandrashekaraiah, Director Legal, HARMAN International

Smitha Chandrashekaraiah is a general counsel with a proven record of accomplishment of working across various industries including but not limited to logistics, IT, healthcare, asset finance and audio/visuals in the Asia Pacific Region. She is nick named as “transformation powerhouse” as she has not just successfully transformed various internal processes at the organizations, she has worked for but also taken on diverse responsibilities beyond her usual duties, which has resulted in the development of next-gen legal departments. Apart from helping corporates to structure, manage and ensure that the IP portfolio is safe, she is also a trusted advisor to the top management covering a broad spectrum of legal and compliance practice - strategic advisory, Board Management, risk and compliance management, structuring and negotiating complex commercial cross border transactions, M&A, litigation, government relations and talent development. Being a firm believer of the philosophy “knowledge is power as long as it’s shared”, she is one of the most sought after keynote speakers at various conferences and addresses the student community at top institutions as a guest lecturer regularly. She is also a recipient of several prestigious awards and accolades.
