Han Kun adds healthcare expert in Shanghai from Covington
Han Kun Law Offices has hired life sciences and healthcare expert Aaron Gu in its Shanghai office from U.S. law firm Covington & Burling.
Gu joined Covington in 2014, and worked eight years at the firm’s Shanghai, New York, and Washington, D.C. offices. Prior to that Gu spent a year at JunHe’s New York office.
With expertise in life sciences, biopharmacy, and healthcare, Gu advises on corporate, regulatory compliance, and transaction issues, such as biosecurity and human genetic resource issues, clinical trial matters, product marketing authorizations, GxP compliance, drug licensing and collaboration, and regulatory issues involved in venture capital and private equity investments, M&As, and foreign and outbound investments.
In January, the Shanghai-based boutique firm Young-Ben Law Firm merged with Han Kun, with all their lawyers joining Han Kun’s office in that city. The hire of Gu is the Shanghai office’s first major hire since the merger.
