LC Lawyers, the Hong Kong member law firm of Big Four outfit EY, has hired corporate specialist Rossana Chu as its co-managing partner from Troutman Sanders, which is set to close its Asia offices at the end of this month.

Also joining LC from Troutman are energy consultant Lynia Lau, who will join her new firm as a partner, and two corporate associates.

Additionally, EY Law’s mainland member firm, EY Law Firm, has hired Chengfei Ding as a partner in Shanghai, along with an energy associate in Beijing. Both join from Troutman.

Chu is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, capital market transactions, corporate finance and regulatory compliance, advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, post-IPO fundraising and corporate restructurings.

Before her stint with Troutman, Chu was a partner at Baker McKenzie. Chu will co-manage LC lawyers with Harry Lin, founder of the firm.

Chu and Lau are the latest Troutman lawyers to find new firms ahead of its Asia closures. Three lawyers from the Atlanta-headquartered firm, including arbitration partner Ronald Sum, previously joined Locke Lord in Hong Kong, while corporate partner Shirley Lau launched a firm, Shirley Lau & Co. which entered into an association with CMS’ Hong Kong office.
