Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati’s veteran partner Don Williams has recently left the firm to join Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton’s Shanghai office where he takes on the position as corporate partner.
Williams most recently practiced in Wilson Sonsini’s Shanghai branch, after spending more than a decade with the firm’s Silicon Valley office.
Williams, who was assigned to oversee Wilson Sonsini’s Shanghai office opening in 2005, cites Sheppard Mullin’s collegial culture and teamwork dedication as the core attractions for his move. His practice encompasses a broad range of general corporate and transactional matters, including venture capital and PE financings, public offerings and M&A. He also has extensive experience working with both US and Asian companies conducting business and raising funds either regions.
In April last year, Sheppard Mullin also boosted its China practice capabilities by hiring former O’Melveny & Myers counsel Todd Bissett as partner. The firm’s Shanghai office, currently employing 14 lawyers, is its first overseas office and serves as the center of its Asia practices.
