Companies facing antitrust investigations in China are subject to a host of pressure tactics from regulators, a business lobby said on Wednesday, in the latest report to cite due process concerns over China's anti-monopoly enforcement.

A Chinese anti-monopoly team visited medical devices and semiconductor firms in Shanghai at the start of September, the country's Ministry of Commerce said in a statement on Thursday, without making clear the purpose of the visit.

Chinese police have arrested eight people, including several editorial staff from a prominent financial newspaper, on suspicion of extorting money from businesses, the official Xinhua news agency said on Thursday.

China is relaxing its financing rules for listed property firms by allowing those that qualify to sell medium-term notes in the interbank market, three sources with knowledge of the matter said.
