US-based firm Jones Day has promoted 36 lawyers to its global partnership this week, a third of whom are in offices outside the US and a quarter of whom are female. Those promoted include Sebastien Evrard and  Ian Lian in Beijing, John Lin in Taipei and Joe Bauerschmidt in Singapore.

Evrard, who relocated from Brussels to Beijing in August 2010, handles antitrust matters including merger control, non-merger investigations and litigation in Europe and China, with a focus on antitrust aspects of intellectual property.

Liao's practice focuses on M&A, venture capital, and cross-border technology transactions. He has substantial experience with M&A transactions in the TMT sectors. ALB
