Sidley Austin has hired Anthony Jacobsen, previously a partner with Baker & McKenzie, as partner at its Shanghai office.  His addition increases the number of lawyers at the Sidley’s Shanghai office to 13. 

Jacobsen, admitted in Hong Kong, has a broad capital markets and general corporate practice with a focus on advising issuers and sponsors for initial public offerings on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.  The most recent deal he was involved in was the $56 million IPO of Shunfeng Photovoltaic International on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
 
"Tony will work closely with our colleagues in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai to provide advice to China-based companies eager to tap the equity and debt markets in Hong Kong, the U.S. and Europe.” said Thomas Albrecht, Sidley’s Managing Partner for Asia Pacific.

Sidley entered the mainland by opening its Beijing office in 1996, and established its Shanghai office in 1999. ALB
