Last month, Jingtian & Gongcheng welcomed Daniel Lee and Jun Liu as its two newest partners. Prior to joining the firm, corporate specialist Lee was a counsel at Shanghai Leaven Attorneys-at-Law , an affiliate law firm of Taiwan firm Lee & Li. M&A and private equity specialist Liu, on the other hand, was a senior associate at Morrison & Foerster before joining Jingtian & Gongcheng.

Lee specialises  in capital markets and securities law, cross border M&A, foreign direct investment and general corporate counselling. He has worked with numerous Taiwan, Hong Kong and PRC issuers in their initial public offerings and international bond and equity transactions.

He is qualified to practice Taiwan, New York and PRC laws. Over his career, Lee worked at Lee & Li, and at the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell, Morrison & Foerster and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.  He is a graduate of Taiwan University and Harvard Law School.

With a practice focused on M&As, equity and debt securities offerings, private equity financings and foreign direct investment transactions, Liu typically advises issuers and investment banks. He was involved in the $11 billion Bank of China IPO, the $2.4 billion Metallurgical Corporation of China IPO and in the sale of H3C, a joint venture between Huawei and 3Com, by Huawei to 3Com.

In addition to working at Morrison & Foerster, Liu has also practised at King & Wood and Shearman & Sterling. He has a PRC qualification certificate and is admitted to the New York State Bar. He graduated from Peking University and Duke University in the U.S. ALB
