Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft has boosted its corporate finance and M&A capabilities in China with the hire of special counsel Jie Huang from Australian telecommunications company, Telstra Corp, where she served as its China general counsel.

Huang’s diverse corporate expertise includes M&As, private equity, U.S. securities law work, and other compliance and regulatory matters in Asia.

“Jie is a highly regarded corporate lawyer with extensive experience in what is a rapidly evolving environment for complex business transactions in mainland China,” said Cadwalader chairman, Christopher White, in a statement.

At Telstra, Huang was a part of the international business unit, and advised on M&As, post merger integrations, IPOs, and corporate restructuring in China. Prior to Telstra, Huang worked for DLA Piper, and represented venture capital and private equity funds. ALB
