Gide Loyrette Nouel has appointed specialists Fan Jiannian and Liu Yue at its Shanghai and Beijing offices respectively. The promotions came into effect from May 24.

Fan has more than a decade’s experience in international corporate and M&A work. Sectors he has advised on include automotives, appliances, manufacturing and industrial gases. In particular, he has been involved in numerous significant stake acquisitions in listed Chinese companies. Qualified in the PRC, Fan speaks Chinese, English and French.

Finance, energy and projects specialist Liu, meanwhile, works on infrastructure, energy and public utility concessions  and PPP projects, in addition to engineering and construction mandates across the mainland. His practice also encompasses foreign direct investment and M&A matters.

Commenting on the appointments in a statement, Gide Beijing office head, Thomas Urlacher, said: “Fan Jiannian and Liu Yue are both seasoned specialists in complex, cross border China matters and enhance our existing capabilities in corporate / M&A and projects, energy and construction in the region. They offer our clients deep experience advising on China outbound investment and China inbound investment matters." ALB
